Position: Hyperbaric and/or Wound Care Registered Nurse- Outpatient Clinic

Department: Hyperbaric and Wound Care Center

 

Our center is currently seeking full/part time positions to be filled in our West Virginia clinics.  We have centers located in both Huntington and Parkersburg, WV.

 

We are also continuously looking for additional nurses at our other sites, which include: Michigan, Long Island (New York), Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida and Illinois.

Responsibilities include:

 

v     Coordinating wound care and Hyperbaric oxygen treatments into the total nursing care plan for patients.

v     Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and other patient care team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

v     Coordinating wound care, hyperbaric oxygen treatments, and maintains the standards of practice, supplies/ordering and equipment.

v     Provides hands-on wound care to complicated patients within a fast paced Wound Care Center.

v     Participates in unit employee selection thru the interviewing and hiring process.

v     Assists the VP of Clinical Services with orientation of new employees, training and education of new personnel and ongoing staff development.

v     Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining quality plan of care fro all patients.

v     Participates in hospital QA/QI plan and management meetings as needed.

v     Knowledge of Regulatory Standards as per Hospital.  (JCAHO, OSHA, Corporate Compliance, HIPPA, and Risk Management)

v     Responsible for submitting bi-weekly payroll for all staff to corporate headquarters.

v     Scheduling of staff

v     Will oversee unit charge entry for services rendered.

v     Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.

v     Maintaining up-to-date staff competencies and employee files.

v     Actively pursues marketing efforts with continuous follow up with local medical community members.

v     Maintains communication with corporate office in Woodbury, NY to discuss current activity within the unit and plans for further growth.

v     Coordinate referrals with other units of hospitals by completing rounds to ensure any wound care patients have, at least, an initial assessment at the wound care & hyperbaric unit.

 

 

Qualifications include:

 

v     Graduate of approved nursing program. Associate or Baccalaureate program

v     Two or more year’s recent experience as a registered nurse with wound care, critical care, or hyperbaric oxygen therapy experience preferred.

v     BCLS required. ACLS preferred

v     Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state of West Virginia.

v     Ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours if needed i.e.; weekends and evenings.
