About

The Northeast Chapter of the UHMS continuing education mission is to promote educational activities for physicians and allied health professionals in the local and regional areas based on a needs assessment of the members and on the UHMS Panel of Expert Opinion. These activities will improve the scientific and practical knowledge in the areas of hyperbaric oxygen treatment and diving medicine.

Parking at the Auditorium: 
attendees can self-park at the Perelman Center Garage, which is located underneath the Perelman Center. Fees are based on how long the person is parked and can range from $7 to $20 per day.  Overflow parking:  The Study Hotel is $20 per car and is less than a 10 minute walk to the Perelman Center. prices are subject to change. 
 

HOTEL INFORMATION:  

The Society/Chapter has negotiated a special discounted room rate (room-block) with the hotel. Your patronage of this meeting hotel makes it possible for the Society/Chapter to secure the space necessary for this event at a greatly reduced cost. The hotel not only offers a discounted rate and the best networking opportunities, but staying in the group block helps the Society/Chapter meet its obligation to the hotel, avoid penalties, and keep meeting registration prices down.  Any attendee that does not book under the UHMS room block, will not receive the special discounted amenities.

The Study at University City is located at the corner of 33rd and Chestnut Streets in West Philadelphia. The hotel is within walking distance of the Drexel and University of Pennsylvania campuses and moments from the shopping, restaurants, local attractions and farmers’ markets of University City.

The above rate is subject to applicable state and local taxes, currently at 16.36% and inclusive of guest room internet.

  • CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT: Check-in time for all groups is 3:00 P.M.  Check-out time is 12:00 P.M.
  • PARKING: Valet Parking is available at $42 per overnight with in and out privileges. Event parking is $20 per car. Price is subject to change.
  • PRE/POST STAYS: The special room rates offered to the Group above are valid three (3) days prior to and three (3) days after the meeting subject to availability and occupancy.
  • LATE CHECK-OUT FEE: In the event that a guest wishes to check-out after the 12:00 PM check-out time, a late check-out fee may be charged to the guest's individual account.
  • CANCELLATION: A 24-hour cancellation policy will apply to each individual reservation.  To avoid a one-night’s room and tax cancellation penalty, reservations must be cancelled 24-hours prior to the arrival date.

  • AIRPORT: Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
  • PUBLIC TRANSIT TO AND FROM PHL
    • Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, SEPTA, provides train service between Center City and the Airport on the Airport Regional Rail Line. Trains run every 30 minutes and operate from 4:52 am to 11:52 pm (Center City to Airport) and from 5:07 am to 12:30 am (Airport to Center City). 
    • Stations on the Airport Regional Rail Line include Terminal E/F, Terminal C/D, Terminal B, Terminal A (East), Eastwick, University City, 30th Street, and three Center City stations along Market Street," includes 30th Street, along with Suburban Station and Jefferson Station. All stations on the Airport Line are wheelchair accessible.
    • Connections to other SEPTA Regional Rail lines and transit routes can be made at University City, 30th Street, Suburban and Jefferson Stations.
    • The one-way Regional Rail fare to Center City is $6.75; or $9.25 to any other station beyond Center City.

    • Connections to Amtrak Northeast Corridor and Keystone Service and NJ Transit Atlantic City Rail Line can be made at 30th Street Station.
    • The Airport is also served by three SEPTA bus routes at Zone 1 of the Arrivals Road outside of baggage claim: Route 37 to/from South Philadelphia and Chester, Pa.; Route 108 to/from 69th Street Transportation Center; Route 115 to/from Suburban Square in Ardmore.
    • The single-ride transit fare is $2.50 and transfers are available on-board buses for an additional $1.00.
