  • Job Description: Western Connecticut Health Network has an outstanding opportunity for a Network Medical Director over Wound Care and Hyperbaric Services across its three hospital system, including Danbury, New Milford, and Norwalk Hospitals. Our hospitals are located approximately 50 to 60 miles northeast of New York City. Reporting to the Executive Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line, this position will help to guide the vision, strategy, and clinical operations of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Services across the network. We are seeking a candidate that is board certified in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine with at least three years of experience in developing and implementing new programs and maintaining accreditation status. This is an employed position with a highly competitive compensation package, including allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses. Specific responsibilities include: • Develop, implement, and maintain programs aimed at education, early detection and treatment of non-healing wounds • Ensure compliance with established in and outpatient quality measures and with government programs and accrediting bodies’ requirements • Coordinate activities related to maintaining Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) accreditation. • Oversee network hyperbaric services, including use criteria, staff training, safety protocols, and clearance of patients recommended for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. • Recommend potential means of growth and development of new and existing services • Coordinate staff development and nurse manager meetings as well as staff training and education related to all wound care modalities • Develop and/or approve the clinical and operational protocols, procedures, programs, rules, and regulations that may be necessary or required for the provision of Network Wound Care and Hyperbaric Services • Serve as liaison between Wound Care and Hyperbaric Services, departments within the network, and community physicians to lead marketing and outreach efforts and assess satisfaction with network services and/or the need for new protocols to assure continuity of patient care Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. Both Danbury and Norwalk are teaching hospitals, associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Medicine and New York Medical College. New Milford Hospital has 85 beds and about 20,000 ED visits per year. Western Connecticut Medical Group, also part of the Network, includes 400+ physicians and 140+ advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York with over 70 outpatient practice locations. Danbury, Connecticut, located in Fairfield County, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT.
