EMT-Paramedic/Hyperbaric Tech to work at Northern VA Hyperbaric Clinic(s) 


EMT-Paramedic responsible for hyperbaric patients and operation of hyperbaric chambers in Vienna, with Leesburg location to open Fall 2021.  We will provide training in chamber operations and care specific to hyperbaric patients. 


Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Chamber operation including proper pressurization to treatment depth and decompression

  • Daily quality logs of safety, maintenance, and inspection documentation

  • Vital sign measurement and documentation including blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood sugar and wound measurements; also, lung and ENT essments

  • Screen patients before starting hyperbaric care for contraindicated conditions or medical implants; also before each hyperbaric treatment for newly emerged contraindications and items not allowed in oxygen environment

  • Physically able to ist patients with limited mobility (including use of gurney) enter and exit the chamber, and able to lift, open and close chamber door

  • Explain HBOT treatments to patients to help provide education about utilization of HBOT for their health issues

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of and adherence to emergency HBOT safety procedures

  • Complete HBOT treatment protocols for HBOT patients on an individual basis

  • Clearly communicate with Hyperbaric Physician and Hyperbaric Safety director about patient case development

  • Check with patient regularly prior, post and throughout the HBOT program to monitor and track progress via symptomatic documentation

  • Stay current with established and evolving HBOT indications, treatment regimens

  • Thoroughly document entire treatment process to help ensure proper insurance coverage for applicable patients and conditions

  • HBOT specific cleaning, laundry, and administrative istance

  • Keeping stock of unit supplies and HBOT products

  • Perform other related duties as required by management


Experience & Skills



  • Current Virginia EMT-I or EMT-P Certification

  • Current ACLS Certification

  • Willing to attend a 40-hr UHMS (Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society) accredited course, company sponsored

  • Willing to work with pediatric patients

  • Must be well organized and able to function independently with little supervision, yet learn when to integrate the physician and safety director as part of case management

  • Experience with scuba diving and/or scuba certification preferred

  • High school graduate or equivalency


Schedule



  • Full-time Monday to Friday, office hours

  • 8-10 hour shift

  • Possibility of early, late and/or weekend hours

  • $20-$25/hr based on experience
