The Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at The Ohio State University is pleased to announce a search for the Medical Director, Hyperbaric Services position. The Medical Director will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of medical care within the hyperbaric product line at OSU Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC); and will work collaboratively to provide operational management, financial management, and leadership functions within the Service.
The individual will be a faculty member within the Department of Emergency Medicine with rank dependent on experience and accomplishment.
This individual will report to the Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Jeffrey Caterino, and to the Chief Medical Officer of University Hospital. The Ohio State University is the premier hyperbaric program in central Ohio offering comprehensive services to include: ambulatory and inpatient hyperbaric therapy, on-call hyperbaric physician and nursing team to manage emergent/urgent dives, routine and emergent consultations, capability for treatment of critical care patients, and ability to manage adult and pediatric populations. The program is a major destination for patient referrals throughout the state of Ohio and all adjacent states.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Appointment Details: The faculty member serving as Medical Director, Hyperbarics serivces will be expected to dedicate 10% of their time and effort to the administrative role. Protected administrative time shall be granted for this purpose. Programmatic and support funds are available for this position. Provision of hyperbaric clinical services is in addition to this time with appropriate release time from other clinical department duties depending on amount of services provided. The balance of individual’s time will be in clinical or other service to the Department of Emergency Medicine.
