This educational activity will provide a foundation for a group Emergency Medicine Residency Trained and Board Certified Emergency Physicians with an overview with the principles and practice of Dive Medicine. They are tasked with representing expeditions in remote areas of the world. Some of these expeditions will include Diving Expeditions and or recreational diving in remote areas. Full transparency in that this program will not substitute for Fellowship training in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine, Board certification or additional UHMS courses such as the Dive Medicine Physician Course. Included in the introduction and history segment will be a very detailed review of additional training and educational opportunities in Dive Medicine.

CO-SPONSORED COURSES: The UHMS is authorized to co-sponsor CME with other accredited entities. An organization that is already accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians may apply to the UHMS for co-sponsorship. The CME activity must comply with the ACCME three Essential Areas and their Elements. An Education Committee review must occur even though CME is provided by the other accredited entity. The accredited provider responsible for issuing CME certificates will be determined upon UHMS application approval.
