Important Update: Outpatient Prospective Payment

Important Update: Outpatient Prospective Payment

The UHMS has become aware of a change in payment that was published in the OPPS (Outpatient Prospective Payment) Final Rule for 2024. G0277, which was predicted to be about $134/30, minutes was given a value of $73.64 (national unadjusted reimbursement rate). There is a comment period for errors in the published document. Because there was no mention of hyperbaric oxygen in the Proposed Rule in July, there should not have been any substantive change in the Final Rule. HOPD departments need to address this during the comment period. The details on how to comment are on page two of the Final Rule, and are listed below:

DATES: Effective date: The provisions of this rule are effective January 1, 2024.
