Major Essential Job Functions

Technical

  • Fabrication, assembly and installation of mechanical equipment such as chamber interior furnishings (bunks, chamber deck flooring etc.), chamber piping, Built-in-Breathing equipment, Air Conditioning System, Chamber Control Console outfitting etc. Pre-trained to work with standard shop tools used for typically mechanical fabrication, assembly, repair work.
  • Applied knowledge of schematics and layouts involving mechanical fabrication, assembly and electro-mechanical controls details for construction of hyperbaric chambers and related equipment.
  • Operate manual and computer-controlled machine shop equipment to fabricate precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in operating machine shop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines. Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
  • Select appropriate raw materials and prepare them for machining operations, including cutting, milling, and shaping.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machine shop equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Work independently with schematic and layout drawings, chamber technical documentation, general mechanical assembly of the components.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce precision components with tight tolerances using manual and computer-controlled machining techniques.

  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Inspect finished components for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Maintain accurate records of machining processes, including materials used, machine settings, and production quantities.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve common goals. Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to troubleshoot issues, optimize designs, and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Clear and effective communication skills to interact with team members, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control skills to ensure accuracy and consistency in manufactured components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and propose effective solutions, identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings in machining operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:  High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: 5 year’s in general mechanical assembly and repair work for Commercial Diving, Aircraft Mechanic, auto Mechanic, Medical Gas Plumber, Boiler Mechanic, Electro / Mechanical Controls Mechanic, Marine Industry Technician.
  • U.S. Work Authorization 

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with software development, HMI’s using PLC or LabView platform is desired but not required.
  • Understanding of schematics and layouts involving mechanical fabrication, assembly and electro-mechanical controls details for construction of hyperbaric chambers and related equipment.
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and standards.
