Job Summary

PCCI Hyperbaric Systems is an industry leader in engineering, manufacturing, and installation of cutting-edge, multiplace hyperbaric and hypobaric systems, and related equipment  with  over 50 years of experience. We are growing fast and seeking a highly motivated Senior Hyperbarics Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for developing the design/engineering, facilitating construction, and testing of hyperbaric chamber systems and ancillary equipment for medical, veterinary, tunneling and diving applications in accordance with user design specifications and applicable industry standards.

Essential Job Functions

Engineering Design Project Management

  • Develop engineering designs, specifications, and bill of materials (BOMs) for hyperbaric chamber systems and ancillary systems including but not limited to air plant systems, gas delivery systems, fire suppression system, gas analyzer system and pneumatic/HMI controls in compliance with User Specification and applicable industry standards such as NFPA 99, ASME Section VIII, and ASME/PVHO-1
  • Oversee contract performance and management of all aspects of assigned Hyperbarics projects relating to technical scope, cost and project schedule.
  • Participate in project planning, budgeting, and project scheduling activities with stake holders to ensure successful execution of hyperbaric system projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for hyperbaric system operations and develop mitigation strategies, as needed.
  • Manage project stakeholder communication on status of project and delivery.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and perform calculations to ensure safety and patient comfort. Perform calculations and conduct detailed structural and engineering analyses to ensure the structural integrity and performance of hyperbaric systems under various pressure conditions.
  • Develop technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for hyperbaric system components and installations employing AutoCAD 2D software. Provide direction, review and approve documentation produced by dedicated drafters.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and industry organizations to stay abreast of relevant standards and regulations governing hyperbaric systems.
  • Coordinate with other departments and external vendors to obtain necessary information and resolve design issues.
  • Expert knowledge of procedures and accepted practices in accordance ASME Y14.100/ASME Y14.5. and welding drawing symbols.

Construction and Installation

  • Oversee construction and installation of hyperbaric systems, ensuring compliance with user design specifications (UDS), NFPA 99, ASME Section VIII, Divion 1, and ASME-PVHO-1standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, plumbing and electrical) to integrate various systems of hyperbaric chamber systems.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to procure project equipment and materials.
  • Conduct/facilitate inspections and quality control checks during the construction process.

Testing and Commissioning

  • Oversee the testing, commissioning, and validation of hyperbaric systems to ensure compliance with UDS, regulatory standards and client requirements. Provide technical support during the startup phase.
  • Develop testing procedures and protocols for hyperbaric systems.
  • Conduct performance tests to verify and validate system functionality and adherence to specifications, and to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical or Aerospace Engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) License or Master’s preferred
  • Minimum Experience: 10 years in Hyperbaric chamber design and construction OR large Diving or Aerospace project engineering/management
  • S. Work Authorization

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Working knowledge of hyperbaric systems Design & Engineering, applicable safety regulations and applicable industry standards such as US FDA, NFPA 99, ASME Section VIII, and ASME/PVHO-1 is required.
  • Working knowledge of US FDA cGMP and ISO 9001 or ISO-13485 is desired.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD (2D required, 3D desired) and MS-Office.
  • Experience with software development, HMI’s using PLC or LabView platform is desired but not required.
